There are three primary methods that may be used to locate a fine art image. You may search for an image, browse through our fine art gallery, or visit our various product galleries to select a product containing a compelling photograph.

Searching For Images

If you are interested in locating an image containing a specific subject or an image from a specific location, you may find it quickly by doing an image search. You can use either the Quick Search (see the left column) or use the more elaborate and capable Search Wizards. Quick Search allows you to enter a few key words and do a fast search to see what images may match your search criteria. The Search Wizards allow a much more complex search in which you can specify such things as the photographer's name, the film size used for the original image, and a host of additional parameters. It takes longer to specify a search, but the Search Wizards are more thorough and can help narrow your search more precisely.

Browsing Our Fine Art Gallery

Another way to find images is to browse through our Fine Art Gallery. The gallery is organized by logical topics that allow you to quickly find images. For example, there are topics for Plants and Fungi, Landscapes, and Animals (among many others). Each topic is then divided into several areas. Landscapes, for example, presents landscape images taken in various states and international locations. Each area is then divided into one final category that contains numerous images. By selecting a topic, area, and category it is possible to quickly narrow in on images of interest.

Here are a few examples of topics, areas, and categories to give you a better idea of how the Fine Art Gallery is organized.

Topic Area Category Comments
Landscapes California Yosemite Images from Yosemite National Park
Plants and Fungi Flowers Orchids Photographs of various Orchid blossoms
Animals Wildlife Bison Images of the American Buffalo (bison)

The Fine Art Gallery presents a logical and organized method for looking through images by categories. If you are interested in a variety of flower images, it is easy to see all of our flower categories by going first to Plants and Fungi and then selecting Flowers. All categories of flowers will then be displayed. Selecting any of the categories will then display thumbnail images of all photographs within that category (images are shown in groups of 20 thumbnails per page; clicking on the next button will show the next 20 thumbnails in the category). Clicking on any individual thumbnail will display a larger version of the image together with additional information including caption, location, film size, and related background information on the photograph.

If you elect to view a large image in the Fine Art Gallery then you will be shown the various products and methods by which this image can be purchased.

Each of our Fine Art Product categories shows each image that can be purchased. If you are looking for a framed 11x14 artwork, then viewing our Framed Art product category will show you each image available as a framed 11x14 artwork. You can then quickly scan the category to find images matching your needs and interests.
