When Should I Consider Boudoir Images?
The time to consider a boudoir portrait series is
right now. Although we all hope to age gracefully, the unfortunate truth
is that we will never look better than we do right now. Now is the time
to take that romantic or provocative image to capture you at your
absolute best.
Where Are The Images Taken?
Boudoir images are typically taken in your home, our
studios, or anywhere else that you will feel comfortable. Other
locations might include your office, his office, the boat, a remote
outdoor location, his truck, or anywhere else where you feel comfortable
and will not feel rushed. Your home is often a good location because you
have access to all of your things and his things should a creative spark
occur during the session. Many women prefer to be away from their home,
so our studios offer an excellent alternative. The choice of location
is entirely up to you.
Who Will Be Present?
The only people who will know about the portrait
session are you, the boudoir photographer, and anyone else you may have told. We
never tell anyone else. If you would feel comfortable having another
person present, then by all means ask them along. It is important that
you feel completely relaxed and safe during the photo session. We ask
that you consider the amount of space available for the photo session
and ensure there is enough room for you, your guests, any props or
furnishing that will appear in the photos, the photographer, and the
photo equipment.
An alternate idea you might consider is a "Girls Night
Out" where you plan a party around a boudoir photography theme. Multiple
people can be included in the photo session at a rate far less than what
would be require for individual sessions.
What Should I Wear?
What you want to convey in your boudoir portraits will
largely dictate what you will wear and how you will dress. If you will
have bare skin photographed, then you should wear loose fitting clothing
(avoiding anything with elastic or wires) around any portion of your
body that will be shown to the camera. Tight fitting or elastic clothing
leaves indentations and marks on the skin that will show up prominently
in the photographs. To get that silky skin look, wear loose fitting
clothing prior to your boudoir portrait session. Also avoid sitting or
leaning on anything that will leave creases in the skin.
During the portrait session you may wear one or more
different outfits. Here is a list of some clothing, accessory items, and
ideas you might consider

Who Will See The Proofs?
Once your portrait series has been completed we will
post the images in a private directory on our web site. You, and only
you, will be given the login ID and password necessary to view these
images online. So, you have absolute control over who will see the
proofs. You may give the login and password information to anyone you
wish, or you may keep it strictly to yourself. The password and login
information is encrypted on our servers, so it is extremely unlikely
that even a hacker could discover them. Further, we remove all proofs
from our web site when you have completed reviewing them.
The private galleries on our web site are intended to
make it easier for you to review your images. They allow you to review
the images at a time and place of your choosing and to control who can
see the images (it is easy for a sister in another state to review the
images, for example). If you would prefer that we not post your proof
images on our web site, please let us know and we will schedule a time
when you can come to our studios to review your proofs.
Who Owns the Images?
As is customary with professional photography, we
retain copyright ownership and possession of the original images. You
may not copy or reproduce the images without our consent. Likewise, we
may not use, sell, give away, or distribute your images without your
consent. Your images will appear in only three possible places: 1) in
our files - in case you want to order prints in the future, 2) on our
web site during your review, and 3) on any prints you order from us. We
make our own professional prints, so nobody in a photo lab will see your
images.
Can My Significant Other Join Me in the
Photos?
Absolutely, we will include your spouse or significant
other in the photographs at no additional charge. We will charge extra
if more than one additional person is included.
What About Hair and Makeup?
Since you want to look your absolute best you should
either plan some significant time to do your hair and makeup, or have it
done professionally. Having these services performed professionally
takes the worry and anxiety out of the process, but it does add cost to
the overall portrait session. If you do not have someone you can trust
for these services, then we may be able to offer some suggestions for
these services. If you decide to do the makeup and hair yourself, then
prepare yourself much as you would for a very elaborate night on the
town. Makeup should be applied a little heavier than normal, but avoid
going to extremes around the eyes.
What Will It Cost?
We look forward to discussing your ideas, goals, and
questions over the phone, at our studios, or at a place of your
choosing. This initial consultation can be as detailed as you like and
is free of charge. Call us at (509) 465-1641 to arrange this initial
consultation. Once you decide to proceed with a boudoir portrait
session, we will require you to book a 90 minute portrait session with
payment due at the time of the booking. Once the portrait session is
complete and you have had a chance to review your boudoir images you can
select from any of our portrait packages, individual prints, and custom
prints.
Custom prints are ideal for any large display pieces you may want. We
are happy to customize our standard portrait packages to fit your
specific needs. We will let you know if your requirements will result in
any additional charges.
When Will The Photographs Be Taken?
We usually schedule a boudoir portrait session two
weeks in the future. We strive to be flexible so that we fit the session
into your busy schedule. Two weeks usually provides ample time for both
of us to prepare for the session. If you have other needs or a specific
occasion or event to commemorate, please let us know and we will do our
best to accommodate your needs. We are not miracle workers, but we are
responsive to customer needs. Please call us at (509) 465-1641 to
schedule your boudoir portrait session.
