Frequently Asked Questions
![]() |
What clothing is best? It is best to keep clothing simple. Keep in mind that babies tend to soil clothing quickly, so it is often good to bring a fresh change of outfit with you or to have your baby photographed in diapers or other minimal clothing. Avoid clothing containing pronounced stripes, patterns or vivid colors. They distract from your baby, the star of the show. What else can I bring? You may, of course, bring anything you like, but common items to be photographed include favorite blankets, toys, or family mementos. Try not to bring too much because we want the focus to be on your baby. Too many items only lead to distraction. But, if you want a photograph with a particular item, bring it along and we will find a creative way to include it in one or more portraits. |
How long are the sessions?
Sessions last anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour. But, we'll take whatever time is necessary to ensure you have numerous quality portraits from which to select.
When will the proofs be ready?
Proofs are generally ready one to two days after the portrait session.
We post proofs into a private gallery on our web site so that you can
review the portraits at your leisure and in the comfort of your home
or office.
Another benefit of the private gallery is that you may (if you wish) share the login
information with friends and relatives so that they can view the portraits online
as well.
Can we order more prints?
If you need additional prints beyond the free prints included in the package
you may order them via the order form in your private gallery, or by calling us
at (509) 465-1641. It generally takes one or two days to complete a print order.
What if I need to change my appointment?
No problem! Simply call us at your earliest convenience to let us know about the change.
We will work with you to find the next appointment opportunity that fits with your schedule.
If you must cancel, we request that you try to give us at least two days notice.
Can I substitute different prints or portrait sessions in the package?
We do not allow substitutions within the Great Start portrait package. But, if you have a specific request or
requirement, let us know and we will work with you to satisfy your need.
What happens if my baby is fussy or cries during a session?
First of all, don't worry about it. Babies are unpredictable and dealing with that unpredictability is part of the challenge and fun
of infant photography. We are patient and have time to wait for baby to be fed or changed, or to participate in
activities that hopefully lead to the desired smiles and poses. The
absolute worst thing that can happen (and we can usually avoid it) is we
reschedule for another day when the situation has improved (no
additional charge).
How do I get started?
You may call us at (509) 465-1641 or
send us an email to inquire further
or to schedule your first appointment.
