In truth, there are times when a photo credit is not warranted and when they are traditionally not provided. For commercial applications such as print advertisements it is quite rare to see a photo credit provided. The photo credit would likely distract from the message of the advertisement - which would of course make the image detrimental to the ad. That would be a bad thing.
For editorial uses it is much more common to see photo credits given. While we do not require photo credits for editorial uses, we are always glad to see them. We would like to request that you provide a photo credit whenever possible.
If you decide to provide a photo credit then we suggest one of the the following formats for the credit:
You can readily find the photographer's name for most of our images by looking at the copyright owner listed below the image. We generally show the copyright owner (in most cases this is the artist or photographer) whenever an image is displayed on the screen.
